Suzanne Cass

Chief Executive Officer

Suzanne joined us from George Thomas Hospice where she was their Head of Income Generation and Development responsible for the £1m fundraising income as well as their internal and external communications. Prior to this, she was the Director of Marketing and Fundraising at St John Wales. Having started her career as a Broadcast Journalist for the BBC, Suzanne has experience of working within healthcare organisations in Wales and has been successful in devising and implementing fundraising strategies to support the activities of those organisations.

Suzanne is the Chief Executive and deals with the day to day running of the organisation as well as strategic development and stakeholder liaison.

Adele Pember

Creative Design and Marketing Officer

Adele graduated from the University of Wales, Newport in 2012 with a 2:1 in Performing Arts. While at University, Adele worked closely with the marketing department for three years as a student ambassador and a marketing assistant. She has also travelled, teaching music, drama and art to young people around the world, studied at the University of New Delhi and become a British Council ambassador.

Adele joined us as Campaigns Officer and is now Creative Design and Marketing Officer, working on all of our marketing campaigns, design and branding projects.

Emily Cole

Digital Communications and PR Officer

Emily has been involved in journalism since the age of 14, starting out as a ‘cub’ reporter for the South Wales Echo. Throughout her school years she won awards in journalism from BBC Wales and Sky. Prior to joining us, Emily was Assistant Editor of Emily has a BA (Hons) in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Glamorgan. She was recently seconded for a 4-month role with Smokefree South West to launch an online, quit smoking Facebook community which garnered over 2,000 likes in that short space of time.

Emily is responsible for the content management of the organisation’s digital channels and handles all press and media matters.

Matthew Harris

Fundraising and Communications Officer

Matthew graduated from the University of South Wales with a degree in Broadcast Journalism in 2014. During his time at university he worked with Overdrive UK, a motor-sport channel, helping to create and present content on the company's YouTube channel. Matthew moved to Made in Cardiff TV where he presented the news bulletin as well as editing and presenting news packages, including producing and presenting two sports shows.

Matthew joins the team as Fundraising and Communications Officer, helping to secure future funding for ASH Wales' wide range of projects which are delivered to communities across Wales.

Dr Steven Macey

Research and Policy Officer

Following completion of an Economics degree at Swansea University, Steven became a researcher within the College of Medicine. Specialising in injury-related research, Steven was responsible for managing the All Wales Injury Surveillance System (AWISS), co-ordinating injury data collection across Europe and querying the large scale healthcare datasets that form part of the Secure Anonymised Information Linkage (SAIL) databank. During his time at Swansea Steven completed a PhD, assessing the medical costs associated with the occurrence of injuries. Since 2011 he has been an Ambassador with Cancer Research UK, and he has also project managed a promotional campaign for a local children’s charity and undertaken an internship at Cancer Information and Support Services (CISS).

Steven works on research and policy projects, informing campaigns and the organisation’s future work.

Julie Edwards

Senior Administrator

Julie has a wide range of experience that includes administration, research and fundraising. She spent many years working as a development manager in the arts before moving into the voluntary sector. Prior to joining us, she was the senior administrator for family support charity Home-Start, and was responsible for increasing the organisation’s financial resources and managing all aspects of the scheme’s day to day operation.

Julie is responsible for managing the administration of the office, including supporting the Chief Executive and our Board of Trustees.

Bobby Singh-Landa

Youth Development Officer

Bobby completed his master’s degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice following an undergraduate degree in the same subject. He has experience of volunteering in the Civil Justice Centre and is currently volunteering with the Youth Offending Service in Cardiff.

Bobby originally joined us through a Jobs Growth Wales placement, in the role of Research and Policy Assistant. He is now part of the youth development team, creating and delivering workshops and sessions for young people across the whole of Wales.

Andrew Foster

Youth Development Officer

Andrew graduated from the University of Glamorgan with a degree in Sport Studies. He joined ASH Wales from Go Active Coaching where he was the Area Manager of South Wales. During his time in the sports coaching sector, he gained 6 years’ experience in teaching sport in schools and working with numerous young people with learning difficulties and disabilities. He also has experience of volunteering in the USA where he helped run activity camps for young people from differing types of backgrounds.

Andrew joins our youth team, supporting our key young people-focused projects including Commit to Quit and The Filter Apprentice.  

Anna Pechocova

Graphic Design Assistant

Anna graduated in Interactive Graphics at the College of Vaclav Hollar in Prague. She continued her studies with a one-year Graphic Design (Top-Up) course at Southampton Solent University where she graduated with a 2:1 BA (Hons). During her time in the university, she created an animated film for a mental health festival and volunteered with the Solent Student Union to paint a sensory room at the Southampton Day Service Centre for disabled adults.

She joins the Communication's Team through the European Voluntary Service and is assisting with creative design, social media and marketing.
